How might future aircraft look like? Our first EXACT onsite public days have just drawn to a close and we are still overwhelmed by how it turned out in practice. With about 130 participants we entered into a fruitful dialogue with industry and other research institutions on DLR’s most comprehensive study towards climate neutral aviation.
Our aim was to share our insights and data, pinpoint those aspects that need to be covered within EXACT 2 and exchange viewpoints – to commonly work towards our vision of reducing the climate impact of tomorrow’s aviation globally.
The key take-aways from the really interactive panel discussion with Veatriki Papantoni from DLR Institute of Networked Energy Systems , Hans Bernd Aringhoff from Lufthansa Technik, Daniel Reckzeh from Airbus, Volker Grewe from DLR institute for Atmospheric Physics) moderated by the legendary Joachim Szodruch from Hamburg Aviation and with a great and wide-awake public forum us additional food for thoughts, which we will pick up for sure.
In the coming weeks we will share more details about the most promising EXACT concepts, which will be analysed to a much more detailed level in EXACT 2.
We would like to thanks our participants for every contribution they made. This encourages us to repeat this event format in April next year, again allocated in Hamburg’s Innovation Hub ZAL Center of Applied Aeronautical Research and obviously with new insights. But, of course, we hope to stay in touch and have many fruitful discussions until then.
